Ephesians 2:8-10

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no may boast. For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

Philosophy of Ministry

As a Director of Christian Education, I believe that God calls and equips me to minister to, empower, and care for families and people of all ages, to serve and love others first with grace and humility, to walk alongside and pursue God’s people in a relevant manner, to build up and advance His kingdom through prayer and intentionality, all to the glory of His name. I seek to serve and build up the body of Christ and wish to cultivate an environment and community where people can grow in their faith and relationships with God and others.

Hebrews 10:23-25

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

Colossians

2: 6-7

"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and build up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

Ephesians 3:16-19

“that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith – that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

DCE Program:

The Director of Christian Education Program at Concordia Irvine offered a wide variety of opportunities to implement what I was learning in the classroom through putting it into practice, hands on experience, and life application. The DCE program is also a Christ centered familial community that is known for students/people who love Christ and His people, filled with liveliness, exuberance, and goofiness.

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” -Matthew 19:14

As a DCE, I believe that God calls us to minister to and care to ALL ages! From my fieldwork church I have had the joy of serving and working with children, youth, high school, and adults!

Through intentional activities and games, large and small group, and more I have gained much experience teaching Kids Church, 6-8th grade, Confirmation, and High School.

Kids Church held on Sunday mornings varied from large group to classes. Kids Church had the main goals of :
1. give children the opportunity to be in worship with their family.

2. develop the habit of attending worship in children.

3. opportunity for parents to teach children how to worship and aspects of worship- Lord's prayer, Apostle's creed and Holy Community.

4. provide age-appropriate learning and fun during the sermon time.

5. show children they are an important part of the congregation by welcoming them back into worship so they can be present at the table of Holy Communion.

6th - 8th grade met on Sundays, teaching them the basics of the Christian faith and helped them to discover how to live out their faith daily. 6th and 7th grade learned about serving others, with service projects and diving in God's word. Confirmation met for large group instruction and then small groups. Youth were able to build in relationship with others and grow in their faith.

High School gathered for a time of worship, fellowship, learning and fun. They strengthened their faith and
friendships
Experience with Adult Ministry included leading a Social Media Panel, attending a Women's Ministry Bible and leading worship and prayer station at a women's ministry event
